We are a tree company working in Westchester, doing removals, trimming, palm work, and stump grinding for homeowners and property managers. This page covers how we price, how we work, and what we will and will not do.

How do you price a job?

We come out, look at the tree, and give you a written number before anything starts. That number does not change unless you ask us to add something. We do not quote over the phone, because two trees the same height can be an hour apart depending on what is under them, and a phone quote is a guess that gets revised in your driveway. Estimates are free and there is no obligation attached to them.

What do you do that other crews skip?

Cleanup, mostly. Brush goes into the chipper as it comes down instead of stacking in the swale. We rake the beds, blow the driveway, sidewalk, and street, and walk the yard looking for the pieces that land in hedges. We put mats down when the turf is soft rather than cutting ruts across it. None of this is remarkable. It is just the part that gets dropped when a crew is trying to fit one more job in before dark.

Will you tell me if I do not need the work?

Yes, and we do it often. Plenty of trees people want removed just need routine pruning, and plenty of palms people are told to strip only need dead fronds pulled. We would rather turn down a removal than take one down that had twenty years left. The other side of that is that when a tree genuinely has to go, we say so directly, and clearing a declining tree off the lot is not something worth putting off through another storm season.

Why does local knowledge matter for tree work?

Because the ground here is unusual. Westchester sits on limestone with a thin soil cap, which means shallow root plates, trees that tip rather than snap, and stumps where the grinder hits rock. Palms in this soil run short on potassium and manganese because the high pH locks it up. Lethal bronzing and Ganoderma are here and are not treatable. Laurel wilt has been working through the avocados. A crew that learned the trade somewhere with real topsoil will read these trees wrong.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes, both, including workers' compensation, and we will send certificates before we start. Ask this of everyone you get a quote from. If someone gets hurt on an uninsured crew in your yard, it can become your problem, and the price difference is never worth that.

What do you not do?

We do not do hurricane cuts on palms, we do not top shade trees, and we do not touch the high-voltage lines along the street. We also do not leave stumps behind and call the job finished, which is why taking the stump below grade is quoted alongside every removal rather than sold to you afterward.
